UPDATE:
A bush fire on Paradise Road on Thursday (April 26) saw eight volunteer fire fighters respond the the call from Bouchie Lake Volunteer Fire Department.
An engine, two water tenders and one rescue truck responded.
Bouchie Lake fire chief Jeff Lefebvre told the Observer they are still not 100 per cent certain of the cause of the fire.
“The fire was contained to the ditch by the home owner, who arrived back home to see the ditch on fire,” explained Lefebvre.
“He worked hard to contain it and we dosed it and put out the hot spots and stumps. The home owner did, however, breathe in some smoke so we treated him with oxygen and gave him some water.”
Lefebvre also issued a note of caution to the community.
“Please be careful while burning grass or throwing your cigarette carelessly out into dry grass.”
