UPDATE:
Castlegar RCMP have released more details with respect to a a single vehicle motor incident that occurred in the 1100 block of 3rd Street earlier today.
A vehicle jumped the curb, crossed over the sidewalk and struck a building on 3rd Street in downtown Castlegar.
The building sustained significant damage but fortunately no one inside was injured.
A 68-year-old local Castlegar woman was taken by ambulance to hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
At this time the incident appears to be medically related and alcohol was not a contributing factor.
The investigation is ongoing and RCMP ask that if anyone has any information to please contact Cst. Robert Gardner at 250-365-7721.

Castlegar Fire Chief Gerry Rempel was on the scene of a noon hour motor vehicle incident in downtown Castlegar on April 5.
A business located in the 1100 block of 3rd St., was driven into by a small car.
Rempel said the motorist was inside receiving attention following the collision.
“It was kind of scary,” said Rempel about the the fortunate fact that no pedestrian had been walking by on the sidewalk at the time.
