Update:

City crews have completed their repairs of the broken West Side water main, and are now working to charge the water distribution system.

To assist in flushing the system, residents affected by the water main break are asked to flush their residential water lines by running their taps until the water become clear. The city would like to thank residents for their patience while repairs were underway.

Original story:

Residents affected by the water main break on the west side are invited to use the shower facilities at the Cariboo Memorial Recreation Complex free of charge until water service is restored.

Affected residents are asked to check in at the pool reception desk and inform staff they are residents affected by the water main break there to use the shower facilities.

Repairs to the water main continue. Residents will be notified when that work is complete.

City crews are diligently working to repair a broken 10-inch water main in the area of Hodgson Road. Areas affected by the break are Hodgson Road near the Pioneer Complex, Wotzke Road, Westridge, Fairview Drive, and Country Club Boulevard.

The cause of the break is unknown at this time.

Residents in the affected areas will experience murky water, low water pressure, and in some cases, will have no water. The city was notified of the break at approximately 6 a.m. and said this morning repairs could take some time.

Once repairs are complete, residents will be notified with instructions on how to resume normal water usage.
