UPDATE: 7:17 a.m.
The fire at a construction site which erupted early Friday morning has been put out.
Quick action by the Kelowna Fire Department limited the damage to two units on the 6th floor of a building which was under construction just off Gyro Beach.
27 firefighters reported to the scene to fight the fire.
No injuries have been reported and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.

There are reports that a building is on fire in Kelowna on Lakeshore Road and Richter Street.
The building is believed to be unoccupied and under construction.

Witnesses say sirens can be heard from Bing Avenue.
Kelowna fire crews are on scene working to put out the blaze.
