UPDATE: Elderly victim ‘stable’ after Cloverdale crash involving truck, scooter

Surrey RCMP say senior remains in hospital Monday in stable condition after crash at 56th Ave., 177B St.

Surrey RCMP says a man in his 90s who was injured in a weekend crash involving a pickup truck and a mobility scooter is in “stable” condition Monday, but remains in hospital.

The collision at Highway 10 and 177B Street happened around 11 a.m. Saturday (Oct. 26). Pictures from the scene show the elderly man’s scooter under the driver’s side of the pickup truck.

Initial indications, according to police, was that the driver of the scooter had “serious and potentially life threatening” injuries from the crash.

Traffic in the area was snarled for hours as officers investigated Saturday, and road closures were in effect.

Investigators are looking for witnesses who saw the collision, or who observed the vehicle prior to the collision, to contact the Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502.

Investigators are also seeking any available dash-cam video.

Anyone with more information about this incident, who has not yet spoken to police, is asked to contact Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502, or Crime Stoppers if you wish to remain anonymous at 1-800-222-TIPS or solvecrime.ca.
