CLOVERDALE — A portion of 176th Street was closed this morning due to a gas leak that police say may have been caused by construction.
The road was shut down from 58th to 64th Avenues for several hours but reader Jen Coles tells the Now-Leader that “traffic is single lane alternating on 176th at 60th” Avenue around 9:30 a.m. but added there are “still really big delays.”
Surrey RCMP say they were called to assist fire service with the leak at 60th Avenue and 176th Street at 9:45 p.m. Monday.
Area residents were advised to keep windows and doors shut as a precaution. Though, Fortis decided no evacuation was needed.
