Mounties are continuing to investigate how a young child fell to her death from a Burnaby apartment building on Saturday afternoon.
Burnaby RCMP, paramedics and the Burnaby Fire Department responded to the call in the 3700-block of Bartlett Court at 2 p.m.
The child appeared to have fallen from one of the upper floors.
Sgt. Dale Carr confirmed that the child was an eight-year-old girl but noted that authorities are still in the early stages of the investigation.
“The investigators are still working through a number of steps and will not be in a position to make a determination for a few days,” Carr said.
“There are a number of people that still need to be spoken with.”
