Swimmers are cautioned about taking a dip in Glen Lake for the second time this summer.
Vancouver Island Health Authority issued the warning Aug. 1 about high bacteria levels in the Langford Lake.
Staff will be testing the water again next week and when the levels drop to a suitable level the warning will be lifted.
“At this point it is the only lake on Vancouver Island with a warning,” said Sarah Plank, VIHA spokesperson. “In the past (years) we’ve also had warnings at Elk and Beaver lakes too,”
The bacteria levels are most likely due to Canada geese, ducks and dogs in the lake
