Highway 1 reopened with lanes clear in both directions over the lunch hour after a multi-vehicle crash east of Annis Road in Chilliwack Wednesday morning brought traffic to a standstill.
The collision happened around 8:30 a.m. on Sept. 23 in the ess curves.
At least two vehicles in the eastbound lanes and one in the westbound lanes were involved in the collision where one vehicle was overturned.
A front-end loader was on scene to move a section of the concrete barrier that was knocked into the eastbound fast lane.
DriveBC was asking folks to detour at Annis Road.
“Please drive with care and expect heavy delays,” according to DriveBC.

At around 9:10 a.m., both eastbound lanes were closed, and only one lane of traffic westbound was getting through. Eastbound traffic was backed up to Upper Prairie Road. By just before noon the lanes were cleared.
