Highway 1 has reopened after a single-vehicle rollover caused delays Tuesday morning.

A single vehicle traveling southbound left the roadway and rolled over at Saddle Rock Tunnel at 10:15 a.m. RCMP, fire crews and ambulance responded to the crash approximately five kilometres north of Yale.

The RCMP cited three people involved in the crash, the Yale Fire Department said five were involved.

Cst. Mike Halskov, media relations officer with the BC RCMP Traffic Services, confirmed all occupants of the vehicle were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

One of the occupants was trapped in the vehicle and had to be extricated. Four Yale Volunteer Fire Department members attended the scene. Once they had removed the luggage and other items blocking the person from exiting the vehicle, they were able to free the trapped person.

An air ambulance was brought in to transport the wounded to hospital, but Marshall confirmed the vehicle occupants could leave in an ambulance instead.
