UPDATE: Highway 3 between Salmo and Creston reopens to single-lane alternating traffic

The portion of highway was closed for hours this morning due to a vehicle fire

Highway 3 between Salmo and Creston has reopened to single-lane alternating traffic after a vehicle fire closed the highway for hours this morning.

The incident occurred near the Maryland Creek and Placer Creek Forest Service Road and its not known if anyone was injured.

According to Drive BC, motorists can expect minor delays as they drive through the section of highway.

Motorists are also asked to slow down with traffic control in the area.
