After hours of police presence, VicPD took a man into custody shortly after 4 p.m. Thursday in the Burnside Road and Carroll Street area of Victoria.
Police were called to the 3100-block of Carroll around 9:15 a.m. on Dec. 5 for a man who breached probation.
“Safety is paramount,” Const. Matt Rutherford, VicPD spokesperson, said of their efforts to peacefully arrest the man. Officers and negotiators were on the scene after man breaching probation refused to leave an apartment.
The incident remains under investigation.
