Williams Lake RCMP are reporting minor injuries were sustained in a collision involving a logging truck and a pickup truck near Horsefly, Wednesday.
Staff Sergeant Del Byron said that the incident occurred on Hatchery Road at the 10 km mark at about noon near Little Horsefly River.
Central Cariboo Search and Rescue were called out due to concerns that a driver was trapped in one of the vehicles, however the driver managed to exit the vehicle on their own.
CCSAR Chief Rick White said the road was icy and the collision occurred on a very tight corner where the road is very narrow.
“We took two vehicles out to the scene, and ended up removing the hood from the pickup truck and took the battery out,” White said, noting he left about fifteen minutes before the second CCSAR vehicle to return to Williams Lake, just in case they received another call.
His crews have attended four or five calls during the last week, he added.
Initially, it was reported that the collision was near Crooked Lake and involved two large vehicles, which was not the case.
