UPDATE: Missing senior found safe

Nanaimo RCMP have reported missing woman has been found safe

The Nanaimo RCMP has reported that a 75-year-old woman who went missing early Wednesday has been found safe.

According to a press release, Julie Curling left her apartment in central Nanaimo at approximately 6:30 a.m. this morning.

Police say Curling has significant medical conditions, one of which causes extreme memory loss.

Curling resides in an apartment building on Cypress Street, located between Terminal and Vancouver avenues. Nanaimo Search and Rescue are attending and will be commencing a search for her.

Curling is a white, five-feet tall, 140 pounds, with shoulder-length grey hair. Her husband who reported her as missing cannot recall what she was wearing.

Investigators have been told she will respond to her first name. Anyone who sees Curling is asked to call 911 immediately.
