UPDATE: Nanaimo man located after he had been missing more than a week

Police had expressed concern, noting 60-year-old requires daily medication

UPDATE: Nanaimo RCMP say the 60-year-old man who hadn’t been seen in a week has been located and is safe and sound.

PREVIOUSLY POSTED: Nanaimo RCMP are asking for the public’s help to locate a 60-year-old man who has not been seen since leaving his central Nanaimo residence more than a week ago.

Police say Robert Cox requires daily medication, which he does not have with him, and his support network and police investigators are concerned for his safety and well-being.

Cox is Caucasian, 5-foot-11, 300 pounds with scraggly grey hair and brown eyes. Of note, Cox’s left thumb is amputated and he has a tattoo of an eagle on his right arm. Cox also walks with a noticeable limp. No clothing description was provided.

Anyone who has information on Cox’s whereabouts is asked to call the Nanaimo RCMP non-emergency line at 250-754-2345, and quote file No. 2021-17478.
