UPDATE: Another COVID-19 case at Cedar Elementary has made it a cluster of cases.
Nanaimo Ladysmith Public Schools posted on social media Tuesday night, May 25, advising that another student or staff member has tested positive for COVID-19.
Island Health has confirmed that the transmission happened at the school, so the cases at Cedar are being called a cluster. Exposure dates are May 17-19 and May 21.

PREVIOUSLY POSTED: The school district is reporting a student or staff member at Cedar Elementary School has tested positive for COVID-19.
According to a social media post, Cedar’s potential COVID-19 exposures dates were May 17 and 18.
Island Health has completed contact tracing, the school district said.
Cedar Elementary is currently the only Nanaimo Ladysmith Public Schools facility on Island Health school exposures list. Schools remain on the list 14 days after the last exposure date, according to Island Health.
