Fire crews responded and quickly extinguished a house fire on the 4600 block of Headquarters Road Sunday afternoon.
Deputy chief Kurt MacDonald said the fire was a little bit tricky to locate due to the smoky conditions in the home, but they were able to knock it down quickly.
“Upon arrival [crews] found smoke basically from floor to ceiling. We did a quick search, located the fire in a back bedroom and extinguished it.”
Fire damage was confined to the back room, but the rest of the single storey home suffered smoke and heat damage.
The residents were not home at the time of the fire and there were no injuries.
MacDonald says the cause of the fire is under investigation.
