UPDATE: No victims at scene of dumped RV in Fraser River in Chilliwack

Heavy police and emergency responder presence Tuesday morning created a stir

  • Nov. 17, 2020 12:00 a.m.

While the situation was taken seriously, there were no victims connected to the RV found mostly under water at the Island 22 boat launch on the Fraser River in Chilliwack Tuesday morning.

There was a heavy police presence, also attended by BC Ambulance Service paramedics, tow trucks and Search and Rescue before 8:30 a.m. at what looked like a pickup truck with a camper offshore in several feet of water.

It was unclear if there was anyone in the vehicle early in the day, but responders were taking the situation seriously, controlling the area, and Search and Rescue members were preparing to go in the water.

Chilliwack RCMP updated media later in the day to say there were no people inside the vehicle.
