Update (Sunday, March 10): As of Saturday afternoon, police cleared the scene of a suspicious death discovered in the early morning on March 9. Police had cordoned off the Sandman parking lot and bus shelter across from Save-On-Foods as they investigated the scene.
In a press release issued Sunday, RCMP are asking anyone with knowledge of the incident to come forward.
“The police are asking for any member of the public that was in that area between March 8 at 5 p.m. and March 9 at 7 a.m. to contact police if they observed anything unsual,” Williams Lake RCMP Const. Joel Kooger said.
“The investigtation remains in the early stages and there is no further information at this time.”

The Williams Lake RCMP are investigating a suspicious death Saturday morning.
A deceased male was found Saturday morning in a parking lot between the Sandman Hotel and Suites and Save-On-Foods just off Oliver St. along 7 Ave N. At this time, officers have the Sandman parking lot taped off, including the neighbouring bus station. A police tent has been set up in the parking lot across from Smashin’ Smoothies.
Williams Lake RCMP said the male was located at around 7 a.m.

Officers on the scene confirmed the death was suspicious in nature and that they are currently investigating. Interviews with people in the area late last night were being conducted on the scene.
Staff Sgt. Del Byron said the incident is currently under investigation by the Williams Lake General Investigation Section and the Williams Lake RCMP Detachment.
