Update: Police presence on Government Street

Penticton RCMP arrested one individual this morning on Government Street

Four police vehicles converged in front of a grocery store on Government Street around 11:20 a.m. on Monday morning.

Const. James Grandy said officers responded to a theft from a motor vehicle in progress on Queen Street. Once they arrived, they observed a vehicle that had been broken into and a purse was reported stolen.

Grandy said a female suspect was arrested, however was later found not to be associated.

RCMP remind the public not to leave any items of value in their vehicles.
