UPDATE: 2:45 p.m. Thursday
Kelowna RCMP have launched investigations into three men who were held by police over night.
After a concerned resident in the Academy Way area reported a suspicious vehicle late Wednesday night.
“Our frontline officers became very concerned when they learned that the vehicle occupants had seemingly taken steps to conceal their identity, and obstruct their vehicles licence plate,” said Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey.
Two 18-year-old men, and a 20-year-old man were arrested when RCMP found the suspicious vehicle, which was found with items the police believed could have been used as weapons.
“As a result of further investigation, RCMP have reason to believe that the three suspects had been prepared to carry out a criminal offence,” said O’Donaghey.
