The power was out for 615 BC Hydro customers in east Parksville after the Parksville fire department was called to Robert Held Art Glass due to a report of a wire fire.
Parksville fire personnel were on scene at about 12:40 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 9 at the business located at 708 Island Hwy. East.
It was reported that wire insulation had melted off some wires leading into the business, starting a small fire. However, it appeared the fire was already out when personnel arrived.
The power was also out at the business, and nearby.
According to the BC Hydro outage map, 615 customers were without power since 11:53 a.m.
The area affected included San Pareil, Martindale Road and east of Mills Street.
BC Hydro’s outage map now shows that power has been restored in the area.
