UPDATE: Nanaimo RCMP say the 53-year-old man who had been reported missing has been located safe and sound.

PREVIOUSLY POSTED: Police are asking for the public’s help as they search for a missing 53-year-old man.

John Lee Whyte’s family members have not heard from him for several months, according to a press release.

“Whyte has serious health issues and his family are extremely worried for his well-being,” the press release notes.

Police say investigators haven’t been in contact with Whyte since February and don’t know where he was last residing.

“All shelters and outreach workers have been contacted with negative results, and it is not certain if Whyte is still in Nanaimo,” the release notes.

White is 5-foot-11, 130 pounds, with long brown hair, a moustache and has a ruddy complexion.
