Update: Rear enders send two to hospital after four-vehicle crash on McKenzie Avenue

Traffic down to single lane

  • Nov. 23, 2018 12:00 a.m.

A chain reaction of rear-enders slowed traffic is a single lane on McKenzie Avenue near Larchwood Drive at 12:39 p.m. on Friday.

Drivers crashed four cars in total.

Two of the drivers were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Their vehicles had to be towed from the scene.

“After further investigation it appears a chain reaction of rear end collisions occurred, after a sudden halt in traffic flow,” said Saanich Police Const. Colby MacIntyre. “Road conditions, due to the weather, may have contributed to the collisions. Drugs and/or alcohol were not a factor.”
