A major Vancouver intersection was closed for nearly 12 hours Wednesday, causing major rush-hour headaches, as investigated an early morning crash.
Police said a white Mercedes SUV going north on Oak Street collided with a white Honda Civic going west on West 49 Avenue just after 1:30 a.m.
The driver and sole occupant of the Mercedes, a Surrey man, remains in hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Two women, both in their 20s, were in the Honda and were treated for minor injuries at the scene.
