A Williams Lake man was arrested on Friday, May 10 and released with a promise to appear in connection with a hit and run Wednesday, May 8 where a cyclist was injured.
Cpl. Ken Davies said charges have yet to be sworn in, but through eye witness statements, the Williams Lake RCMP General Investigation Section was able to identify what they believe was the vehicle involved.
“Once the information has been sworn in we can release his name,” Davies said.

The injured cyclist told the Tribune Monday that after he was treated at Cariboo Memorial Hospital on Wednesday he was released later that day.
“I’m pretty beat up,” he said. “I have road rash, a couple broken fingers, stitches in my foot, my knees and back were injured, and I’m moving about half a kilometre an hour.”
He was in a car crash two years ago and had a steel plate put in his pelvis and said he had just been getting more mobile. He has been living in Williams Lake for about 13 years.
