Kelowna RCMP officers were first on the scene of an accident Monday morning in Kelowna.
Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey says officers were on patrol when the came across the accident at Harvey Avenue and Dilworth Drive just after 7 a.m.
As police arrived both drivers were still on scene and inside their vehicles.
O’Donaghey says it appears a black Nissan Pathfinder was attempting to turn left in front of a red Hyundai when it was struck.
The accident caused significant damage to both vehicles and debris was scattered across the road causing heavy delays in the area. Airbags deployed in both vehicles.
The driver of the Hyundai was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the Nissan was issued a ticket for failing to yield.

Original: Sept. 24
A multi-vehicle collision stalled traffic Monday morning at Highway 97 and Dilworth Drive near Orchard Park Mall.
The crash happened just after 7 a.m. in the eastbound lane totalling at least one vehicle. Traffic was being re-routed around the accident still at 7:30 a.m. while fire crews cleared the scene.
There is no word on any injuries at this time, but one ambulance was seen rushing to the hospital with lights and sirens on while another ambulance remained on scene.
