Update: Trans-Canada closures due to avalanche control, clean up

Heavy snow has closed the highway in Glacier National Park due to avalanche control and clean up on Mar. 5. More closures Mar. 6.

Update, Mar. 6:

The Trans-Canada Highway is closed on both sides of Revelstoke on Mar. 6 due to avalanche activity. DriveBC is forecasting re-openings at 11 a.m. in both directions.

Portions of the Trans-Canada Highway in Glacier National Park are closed until 8 p.m. on Mar. 5 due to avalanche control and clean up.

DriveBC is warning there will be more closures on Mar. 6, but are unable to forecast when at this point. The provincial highways information service is advising motorists to check back in with DriveBC for updates on the situation.
