Highway 1 reopened just before midnight Dec. 16 after it was closed yesterday afternoon due to fatal crash.
RCMP confirmed that a 52 year old man from B.C. succumbed to his injuries, while the driver of the east bound commercial vehicle was not injured.
Police were called to the scene at 3:40 p.m. The incident involved a semi truck and sedan.
Although the investigation is ongoing, the initial indication is that the sedan cross the centre line, on a curve, on a two-way section of the highway.
The accident was between Mount Revelstoke National Park and Skunk Cabbage Boardwalk just 18 km east of Revelstoke.
