SURREY – Police say two pedestrians were hit before a vehicle crashed into a home in Cloverdale Thursday evening.

Surrey RCMP say a car coming out of an alley struck a southbound vehicle on 172nd Street approaching 64th Avenue.

The southbound vehicle then hit a parked car which hit a garage, according to police.

It happened around 7 p.m.

Police say one of the drivers “bumped into” the pedestrians. While they were taken to hospital, police say their injuries were not life threatening.

A witness at the scene said there were three vehicles off the road, with another embedded into the side of the garage of the home.

While the witness said two people in the basement suite were briefly trapped inside the stairwell entrance, police say no one was trapped.

“It appears that perhaps they were standing there at the time of the collision and narrowly escaped injury,” the witness told the Now-Leader.

Police have not released any details about the drivers, and have not yet commented on a possible cause.
