Emergency crews including police, ambulance and the fire department responded to a two-vehicle collision near Minto Road and Highway 22 in Castlegar.
The incident happened Wednesday, Aug. 26 around 12:40 p.m.
An eyewitness reported seeing the truck turning left onto the highway from Minto Road. It was then hit by a car heading south on Highway 22.
According to fire chief Sam Lattanzio, the two occupants of the truck and the driver of the car had exited their vehicles safely by the time fire crews arrived on scene.
RCMP are investigating the collision.
This was the second vehicle collision in Castlegar Wednesday. A truck hit the side of the Brilliant Bridge earlier in the morning.
Lattanzio says the intersection has seen a fair number of accidents in recent years. He urges drivers to be cautions when entering the highway and to remember that approaching vehicles are driving at highway speeds.
