Two suspects charged in connection with a firearm-involved robbery spree Monday from Mission to Seabird Island made an appearance in Chilliwack provincial court on Friday facing numerous charges.
Darius Calvin Ray Commodore and Jaimal Brovil Mclaren at first faced one count each of robbery using a firearm. The charge comes with a minimum sentence of five years jail for a first offence, which is the case for both men aged 22 and 24.
That charge was amended to include 13 charges in total, 11 for Commodore and nine for Mclaren (some are joint charges).
Those charges include: pointing a firearm, unlawfully discharging a firearm, disguising face with intent to commit offence, and uttering threats, among others.
It was just before 9:30 p.m. on June 10 when Mission RCMP responded to a report of two men brandishing firearms while speeding away in a red Jeep after allegedly robbing a general store in the 43000-block of Lougheed Highway in Lake Errock.
The Jeep was stolen from Lake Errock earlier in the day.

Half an hour after that, Agassiz RCMP received a report of a robbery at a gas station in the 3900-block of Chowat Road on the Seabird Island reserve just east of Agassiz.
There were reports that Commodore and/or Mclaren fired rounds into the air at some point in the alleged robbery.
Agassiz officers, supported by Chilliwack RCMP and the Integrated Police Dog Service (IPDS) arrived in the area where the stolen vehicle was found abandoned near the Highway 7 bridge over the Fraser River.
On June 10, 2019, RCMP police dog Gibson tracked down two men who are now charged with armed robbery in Agassiz and Seabird Island |
IPDS reported that police dog Gibson “quickly picked-up a track of human scent from the abandoned vehicle and found the two suspects to locate the first suspect hiding in a swampy area and the second suspect in a nearby garden shed.”
Firearms and evidence linked to the robberies were seized by police during the arrest.
Coincidentally, 11 hours before the Mission robbery, Chilliwack RCMP issued a press release stating Commodore was wanted for nine criminal breaches related to other files.

Commodore and Mclaren remain in custody and were due in court Friday morning. By 10:30 a.m. they had not yet appeared, but defence counsel said the matter would be adjourned over to another date, likely for a bail hearing.
Federal Crown counsel was also in the courtroom to deal with Commodore who is also facing one count of possession for the purpose of trafficking from Abbotsford in August 2018.
The two are due next in court on June 18.
