According to the Chase RCMP, the May 20 crash which disrupted traffic on the Trans-Canada was caused by a driver making an unsafe U-turn. The report of the crash reached the Chase RCMP at 12:45 p.m. on May 20. Their investigation found that the driver of a grey Chevrolet pickup truck attempted a U-turn on the Trans-Canada Highway. The U-turn put the truck in the path of another westbound truck, also a Chevrolet, and caused the collision.
Three occupants of the turning truck and the driver of the second truck were transported by ambulance to receive treatment for minor injuries.
The driver of the truck which made the unsafe U-turn was issued a ticket under the Motor Vehicle Act.

Traffic on the Trans-Canada Highway was reportedly disrupted by a collision west of Chase.
Posts on social media indicate the crash took place near the highway’s intersection with Planter Road; they say that traffic is now moving in both directions after the crash was cleared.
