UPDATE: Vancouver bars, restaurants to close for St. Patrick’s Day to limit COVID-19 spread

Move comes as B.C. limits public gatherings due to novel coronavirus

St. Patrick’s Day will look a little different in Vancouver Tuesday as the city is expected to shut its bars and restaurants, according to an order from Vancouver Coastal Health.

Chief medical health officer Dr. Patricia Daly said the order came after the province’s top health official, Dr. Bonnie Henry, banned gatherings of 50 or more people to slow the spread of COVID-19.
