Chilliwack firefighters battled a garage fire Tuesday afternoon at a home in downtown Chilliwack before it was able to spread to the nearby home.
The blaze broke out just before 3:30 p.m. in the alley between Cook and Tupper Street in the 9400 block.
A vehicle in the garage was destroyed.
The owner of the two-door BMW 328Ci said he doesn’t know what caused the fire but the suspicion is electrical. He added that no one was in the garage at the time of the fire.
One person was being treated for smoke inhalation.
Neighbours gathered in the adjacent parking garage at an apartment on Cook Street to watch firefighters tackle the dramatic fire, which was out by 4:15 p.m.
