UPDATE: Wildfire in Twin Lakes area appears contained

The fire is listed at 0.4 hectares on the BC Wildfire Dashboard

The wildfire in the Twin Lakes area appears to be contained, but the BC Wildfire Dashboard still has it listed as ‘new.’

BC Wildfire Service reported the new wildfire Saturday afternoon. The fire started around 2:15 p.m. on Grand Oro Road.

The fire is in the Twin Lakes area south of Penticton and northeast of Keremeos, according to the BC Wildfire Dashboard.

Discovered May 1, the fire is listed at 0.4 hectares on the BC Wildfire Dashboard. It was one of two wildfires started in two days in B.C.

There have been 153 wildfires so far in 2021 in B.C., with the majority being human-caused.
