A 23-year-old woman involved in a crash Friday morning in Abbotsford has died in hospital.
The collision took place at about 7:20 a.m. in the area of Marshall Road and Horizon Street, where a Ford Explorer T-boned a Ford Escort.
The lone occupant of the Escort was transported by ambulance to Abbotsford Regional Hospital and then airlifted to another Lower Mainland hospital.
The woman was on life support and in critical condition throughout the day, and friends and family have indicated that she passed away on Friday evening.
A father and two children in the Explorer were assessed by medical personnel at the scene and released with no reported injuries.
The Abbotsford Police Department, Abbotsford Fire Rescue Service and BC Ambulance were on the scene.
Marshall Road was closed to traffic between McCallum Road and Ware Street, including some side streets, and was shut down for several hours as police collision reconstructionists and patrol officers remained on the scene.
The exact circumstances of the collision are not yet known.
