These incidents may always be false alarms, but law enforcement officials have to take them seriously.
The threats lead to the closure of all six courtrooms, accused have to be removed from cells and taken to another location, and all staff are forced to leave the building.
The Lower Mainland Police Dog Service is called in, and staff cannot return to the courthouse until the dog service gives the all clear.
Chilliwack RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Mike Rail said the police did make an arrest and are forwarding a recommendation of charges to the B.C. Prosecution Service for the April 24 incident.
No one has yet been charged and he added that there was still some ongoing investigation underway on the file.
