Ferries between Vancouver Island and the mainland are filling up as passengers travel on the weekend after Christmas.
For the evening, the 5 p.m. sailing from Swartz Bay to Tsawwassen is 100 per cent full. The 6 p.m. sailing is 42 per cent full and the 7 p.m. sailing is 53 per cent full.
Headed to Victoria, the 5 p.m. sailing from Tsawwassen to Swartz Bay is 74 per cent full but the 7 p.m and 8 p.m. sailings are less than 50 per cent full.
After a cancellation Saturday afternoon, the evening sailing between Tsawwassen to Duke Point at 5:45 p.m. is only 36 per cent full, but the 3:15 p.m. sailing left at almost 100 per cent capacity.
A cancellation from Duke Point to Tsawwassen also took place Saturday afternoon and the 5:45 p.m. sailing is 88 per cent full.

BC Ferries said it had cancelled the 10:15 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. sailings on the Queen of Alberni due to a mechanical difficulty with the ship’s main engine fuel pump. Customers with reservations were to be advised of the cancellation and accommodated on a later sailing where possible. Reservations that were cancelled had fees fully refunded.

From Departure Bay to Horseshoe Bay, the 5:55 p.m. sailing is 100 per cent full with the 8:45 p.m. sailing almost half full. The 10:10 p.m. sailing, however, is only 6 per cent full.
BC Ferries added 171 sailings to its regular schedule over the holidays.
