A teenage boy who was sent to hospital after being hit by a Jeep Monday afternoon in Brookswood will be fine, Langley RCMP said.
A Jeep Patriot collided with a 14-year-old boy riding a bicycle Monday afternoon.
“Police were called to the scene at approximately 1:40 p.m.,” said RCMP Cpl. Holly Largy. “Initial investigation suggests the boy crossed the street between crosswalks in the 3900 block of 200 Street and was struck by the northbound Jeep. Unfortunately, he was not wearing a bicycle helmet.”
The boy was taken to hospital, but was released after being kept overnight for observation, said Largy. He suffered no broken bones from the incident.
The driver of the Jeep remained at the collision scene.
“Speed is not believed to be a factor in the collision,” Largy added.
ICARS attended to assist with the investigation of which conduct will remain with Langley Traffic Section.
Police kept 200th Street closed in both directions south of 40th Avenue for several hours on Monday.
Anyone who witnessed the collision and had not yet spoken to police is asked to call Langley RCMP at 604-532-3200 (file #2018-10272).
