The Eastleigh Crescent building that formerly housed the Langley Legion Branch #21 and served as a temporary home for the City’s Timms Recreation Centre, is no more.

On Thursday, the building was demolished — a process that reader Caroline Rose captured in a series of photos.
Caroline told the Times that the first image was taken just before 10 a.m. and the final shot, just before noon.
Two condominium buildings will be going up on the site.
Construction of the 188-unit, five-storey condominium development at 20702, 20678 and 20688 Eastleigh Crescent will be phased in with construction of the two buildings separated by a year.
Suites will range in size from 466 to 1087 sq. ft.
The project will include one accessible suite on each floor in each building.
A report to Langley City council by Gerald Minchuk, Director of Development Services and Economic Development, said the project would “enhance the east gateway to the downtown core.”
The building entrance will be from Eastleigh Crescent with visitor parking on the surface at the lane, and all resident parking in a secure underground structure that includes bicycle parking.
Each building will have a lounge next to the entry and five indoor amenity rooms including an exercise room, meeting room, library, yoga room, and theatre room
The buildings were designed in keeping with the Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) principles of natural surveillance, access control, territorial reinforcement and building maintenance, the report noted.
