Investigators have found the suspect vehicle believed to be linked to the stabbing death of Leonardo Ngo in Surrey earlier this week.
A 2017 black Jeep Cherokee Trail Hawk was found Friday at about 2 a.m. in 9000-block of Ashgrove Crescent in Burnaby, after RCMP received reports of a vehicle fire, the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team said in a news release.
A woman, who lives near where the car was discovered and did not want her name to be published, told Black Press Media she heard tires squealing at that time, followed by sirens.
“They had the dogs, a chopper and were out with rifles searching at 2 a.m.,” she said.
Surrey RCMP responded to a report of a stabbing near 152 Street and 108 Avenue around 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
Ngo died after an apparent altercation outside a townhouse complex.
