Wildfire crews are still fighting the Montana Forest Service Road fire, which is burning in a forested area four kilometres north east of Vavenby, after an early morning lightning strike on July 30.
BC Wildfire Service said as of Aug. 2 there are 22 personnel, with support from heavy equipment and helicopters, fighting the fire, burning about 20 kilometres east of Clearwater.
Hand ignitions have been finished on green pockets inside the fire perimeter to remove unburned fuels.
