A 75-year-old Saanich woman who went missing on Thursday morning has been located by Search and Rescue crews.
Ruizhen Wu was found safe on Saturday and will be reunited with her family, police say.
She left home at 9:30 a.m. on Oct. 10 for her daily walk near Rogers Avenue and Quadra Street and never returned. Saanich police asked for the public’s help in locating Wu as she is believed to be suffering from Alzheimer’s disease.
Police suspect Wu got disoriented as she was spotted around 1:30 p.m. on Oct. 10 in the Cordova Bay area. Residents were asked to keep an eye out for her and to check their yards and garages as police suspected she’d seek shelter at night.
Police are greatful for the work of the Search and Rescue crew and thank the public for their role in bringing Wu home, noted Cst. Markus Anastasiades.
