More than 1,500 people on the West Shore were without power after an early morning crash that happened around 1:40 a.m. Monday.
According to BC Hydro, 1,671 people in the area east of Happy Valley Road, south of Langford Parkway, north of Wendey Drive and west of Veterans Memorial Parkway were without power for several hours on Oct. 19.

A single car crash caused the outage at around 1:40 a.m. when a 27-year-old Vancouver man crashed his vehicle into a power pole with enough force to take the pole off of its foundation. Crews were able to restore the power around 9 a.m.
