Investigators are on scene at Ruth King Elementary School in Langford.
The West Shore RCMP’s Serious Crimes Unit is investigating a report of an aggravated assault according to Const. Nancy Saggar, media relations officer.
A large portion of the school grounds is cordoned off with police on scene.

Students are still being let into the school but have been asked to stay away from the taped off area.
Saggar said the incident took place Wednesday night on the elementary school grounds located on 2764 Jacklin Rd. in Langford.

“This investigation is in the very early stages and many resources have been deployed to assist the investigators,” said Saggar, adding updates would be made available to the public as the investigation continues.
B.C. Emergency Health Services (BCEHS) confirmed a call was received for an incident at Ruth King Elementary School at 11:03 p.m. on June 26.
Two ground unit ambulances were dispatched and paramedics were on scene five minutes later at 11:08 p.m., according to Shannon Miller, communications officer with BCEHS.
Miller said police were notified of the incident and one patient was transported to hospital in serious condition.
Lindsay Vogan, communications manager for Sooke School District, noted the incident was not school related. She could not provide any further comment at this time.
