UPDATED: Surrey RCMP say the girls have been located safe and sound.

Two girls, ages 10 and 12, were reported missing on Sunday evening in Surrey, police said.

One of their mothers called them for dinner around 5 p.m., but they didn’t answer. When she couldn’t find them, she called the RCMP.

The girls, who are cousins, were last seen playing at a residential complex in the 16100 block of 83 Avenue, police said.

Mounties arrived and started searching the area, but so far haven’t found the children. The Surrey Search and Rescue team has also been called in.

Arwyn, 12, is described as white, about 4’11”, 70 lbs., with long, dark hair, fair skin and a slim build. She was last seen wearing black tights and a long-sleeved burgundy shirt.

Hayley, 10, is also described as white, about 4’11”, 100 lbs., with long, light brown hair, fair skin and a medium to husky build. She was last seen wearing a long, white mesh sweater with black stars on it and black tights. She may also have been wearing glasses.

Surrey RCMP are asking anyone who knows where the girls are or who may have seen them to contact them at 604-599-0502 or to call Crime Stoppers.
