A street fight resulted in two men being injured Tuesday evening in downtown Maple Ridge.
A shirtless man was seen lying on the ground in a parking lot behind the church at 222nd Street and Dewdney Trunk Road, around 8:30 p.m., being tended to by paramedics and police.
Initial reports were that a man was stabbed.
Ridge Meadows RCMP said Wednesday that two men got into a fight near 222nd Street and Brown Avenue, resulting in both being injured and requiring medical attention.
However, police wouldn’t confirm that a stabbing was involved.
“Both men were transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries,” said Insp. Aaron Paradis.
“This is an isolated incident between two parties, there is no threat to public safety and the investigation is ongoing.”
So far, no arrests have been made.
