Two people were taken to hospital with injuries following a three-vehicle collision on the Pat Bay Highway on Friday evening.

Just before 4 p.m. on Sept. 4, emergency crews were called to the intersection of Beacon Avenue and the Pat Bay Highway where a crash involving three vehicles had just occurred.

According to a spokesperson for Provincial Health Services Authority, three ambulances were sent to the scene of the crash and two people were transported to hospital by paramedics.

A witness counted two vehicles that appeared to be involved in the crash but said it was unclear what directions they’d been travelling.

The northbound lanes of the highway were closed for nearly four hours– the area was cleared shortly before 8 p.m.

Traffic on Beacon Avenue east of Highway 17 was also closed both directions while northbound highway traffic was being detoured.
