UPDATE: Uptown shops are open after a power outage closed the mall Thursday.
A power outage that includes Uptown shopping centre means stores are closed and shoppers trying to leave.
Unfortunately, the parkade is jam-packed with people trying to leave. All stores are closed and staff are putting up barriers barring entrance to the mall.

About 2,200 clients are without power in that area due to a tree on the lines according to BC Hydro.
Saanich outages include residents in and around Cordova Bay and Prospect Lake.
